Hi peeps,

Just purchased a 2610 and although they're bloody expensive, I've not had so much fun since puberty.

Question though. I've only had a couple of hours playing with it & going through the instructions, but can't see how to get routes generated from my PC onto the unit using the supplied USB cable. It looks to me like I've got to get either a serial cable or a card reader/writer - can't be right after spending all that dosh!?!?

Anybody help out a cranially-challenged duffer?

Roland.

Try 'File' on the top menu and then 'Save to' on the drop down, then 'USB GPS'.

This works on my GPSmap 60C and I would assume it's the same for the 2610.

Adam,

Thanks for the speedy reponse. I was going to say it didn't help as I already knew that. I've just checked again, though, & realised I'd been too hasty.

Whilst browsing the manual & MapSource on my PC, I was (all too easily!) confused by the fact that everything but maps was greyed-out on the 'Save to GPS' dialogue.

Didn't realise the system was just being more intelligent than me by recognising that I hadn't created any routes in the active file - Doh!!.

Thanks again & sorry to waste your time.
