2610 - US Version

I'm considering gettting a 2610 shipped in from the US but am unsure as to what I will need to do other than get the UK mapping to use it over here. Is there any form of mod that will be required to the operating system for it to operate correctly ?

Daft question with probably a very simple answer but it might be the easiest way to get a decent 2610 ...

All you will need is UK mapping (£46 from Garmin?), and a CF card - 2GB is sufficient.

Oh - and an adaptor to power it, while you download maps and routes to it from your PC.

I very much doubt that you'll get City Navigator Europe for £46!! You'll also need WorldMap to substitute for you lack of European basemaps.

It can (I have a US version) but you must have access to decent mapping data - check that before you buy.

Thanks for the warning - at present the shop won't deliver to the UK or take a UK credit card so I'm probably fighting a losing battle by the time I arrange alternative deliveries.

I've just put a plea on the wanted section so I'll see what comes this way idc.
