Would it be ok to load CN V9 without V8?

The second hand set up that I have has a fault with V8 that Garmin are aware of and they tell me that a fix is being worked on. In the meantime do you think that V9 would work without V8, straight on top of V6?

Answers on a postcard................:bounce1

Just upgraded to v9 from v6 no probs :thumb

Ive done the same too, although I upgraded the software on the gps unit itself, and now i cant seem to write to the CF card anymore. However, sticking the card into a 'card reader' still works.

For info, has anyone else found that the 2gb card is no longer sufficient for getting all of europe on it?

Thanks for the reply`s boys..........

Just ordered V9 on the strength of that............:beerjug:

As you will have noticed, Europe has not only got bigger, but is now much more detailed.

Do you really need ALL of Europe on a single card? What sort of trip are you planning?

3 weeks and hoping to get far away from blighty as possible!

Oh yea, I leave this weekend :thumb

Yes, but consider:

Are you going to southern Spain and northern Sweden?

Are you going to Ireland and Poland?

Sardinina? Corsica?

Drop Norway, Sweden and Ireland and v9 takes about 1.8Gb

Well i've already dropped the usual baltic states of yugoslavia, greece, etc ;) as well as ireland, but i would prefer to keep as much on as possible, just to make it a proper road trip.

I've only 1 nights stay booked, and an outward ferry crossing...so who knows where I'll end up. :augie
