I have a copy of Metro Guide Canada (V4) purchased with the intention of downloading it to my 60CS.

My questions are; if I download only a very small part of it (ie the area immediately surrounding Calgary) to my 2720:

1. Will it fit without deleting any of my CN8 Euro Maps

2. What will happen when I switch on my unit in Canada. Will the Metro Guide work ina similar way to the CN8??

I had a very similar question but mine related to Polish maps not Canadian. I had brilliant answers in THIS THREAD but basically, the 2 map "families" have to be downloaded at the same time.

The change from one map family to another in my case was seamless - in fact if I hadn't marked the Polish border as a waypoint, I wouldn't have been able to tell which map the GPS unit was using, just from looking at the map screen. :thumb

Where did you get your Metro Guide from and how much?
When are you off to Calgary then?

Steve,

Managed to beg and borrow it from a mate who is going to a different area of Canada at the same time as me.
It doesn't require an unlock code, so is transferable!!!! (Wrong I know but for different reasons feel that Garmin owe me one!!)

Got it really to use on my 60 CS, not sure about taking my 2720, it's a bit bulky and valuable for an area with so few roads.

Not really going to Calgary (other than the Airport!!!) Going to Banff for Christmas........Yippppppeeee!!!!!

You in the area??

Christmas in Banff.Veeery nice!
I'm off to stay with friends in Banff & Canmore on 20th Jan to do some snowboarding/cross country skiing/snowmobiling etc. I go every year if poss. One of my favourite places.

Any chance your mate would consider selling the disc after he's finished with it. I'm looking to cross Canada from Nova Scotia to BC possibly including Alaska and the Metro Guide would be very useful.

Have great time.
