2D Barcode generator

there is a font in microsoft word aswell that allows you od it. good idea

Not judging, but WHY:confused:

What is it useful for?

used it in work for passwords, log in ID's etc and keep them in wallet. saves typing them in when have use them 5-6 times an hour. we have a handheld scanner on each PC and makes life real handy

You could always make luggage labels out of them.

Prevents the casual observer from reading your home address when standing in line at the airport?

I see more and more business cards having a 2D barcode, dead handy for scanning into contacts. Using http://goqr.me/ I made my own outlook email signature into a 2D, will see what the reaction is.....

Can't remember offhand the generator I used, but I'll dig it out sometime.

There are several specific types of QR code. That one is a contact card, which is why your phone asked to add it to contacts. The other types include, but aren't limited to (i.e. I cant feckin remember them all) hyperlinks and flat text. So you can pretty much do anything you want with them. Google "free QR code generator" if you want to play :thumb2

Is it sad that I can't wait to try this out? :blast

There are free scanner apps for android and symbian....

You can have a lot of info in them, just to be careful to remember how much and what kind of details you put in there before sharing. :blast

Question

If you made one of these and sent it to someone to their phone, is there a way to scan it, like an app that you can select the image and upload to and it reads it?

That's a good question... I think QRDroid does it too.

Just tested it, very good!

Happy Easter!
