320mm brake upgrade for R80G/S

Cancel the 320mm disc upgrade :(

Just called Motorworks to order it and it has gone up from £201 to £259 because of the sodden £/Euro rate of exchange  so not bothering now:tears

Looks like Robs suggestion of HH pads will be the clear winner !!!!:)

EDIT:- Just trying to order direct to Siebenrock for £224.73 but their website is making life very difficult...emailed them, so we will see !!
And to think, I was going to treat her to a 1000cc upgrade kit as well - but that will definately have to wait until the exchange rate comes down or the whole project is doomed !!!

Did you ask if they're having a sale in the spring?

Cheaper for you to go dual disc:
http://www.motobins.co.uk/displayfi...SC+CONVERSION+KIT+FOR+1985+ON+MONOSHOCK+TWINS.

When I pointed out the £58 increase, the guy at Motorworks ( quite rightley) blamed the Euro etc. Told him I wanted the order but not for that sort of 'overnight' increase. He didn't budge on the price as they order them directly from Siebenrock and don't keep any in stock !! Was going to order a fairing as well but I can't be bothered at the moment.

That twin set-up looks OK from Moto-Bins...still over £300 all in though. I have a caliper for the other side..so as soon as I can find out if an second ordinary g/s disc will fit in the set-up, then I'll maybe go that route ( ahem with s/s longer hub bolts:augie ). If not, money stays in the bank :bounce1

I don't think I'll be the only one not prepared to fork excessive amounts due to the Euro exchange rate.

Proff, spend some of your vast wealth and let us know how to do the front set-up :bounce1

Still need a petrol tap, screen and a mudguard as well ( for my desert or army spec alternative) !!!!

Ordered something before Christmas, which they didn't have in stock. Phoned them, Motorworks, yesterday and I'll pay the pre-price increase price :)

Well get back on the 'phone to your mate and tell them I am sulking ( and I would definately place an order for the upgrade if about £201 ish and a slipstream deflector and a petrol tap )!!!

Dog walking now, to mull over whether to spend on the Honda CB1300s instead !!!:bounce1

Can't see one for the G/S..just a F650 :nenau

Similar to the Siebenrock in price so I'll await their reply otherwise I won't be doing this single disc mod.

Click "Bremsen" (top left), then scroll down just past the red/green/blue table matrix... First picture.
Siebenrock buy them from HE.

Top man John :bounce1

Just emailed them to ask the price with P & P ( just in case their price has upped as well as Motorworks etc ). Showing at £204 so they will be getting my money if that is their price.

I just need to know how to online order from the site :nenau

Many thanks

This is how much mine cost........................ if it helps :thumb

Very good brake.

Modded, John removed your attachment...all your details where on it !! ( Thanks proff :thumb2)

What set up did you have before the upgrade, and what difference did you see in the slowing down of the bike? On mine I have a floating disc and normal caliper, and don't reckon to be able to lock the front wheel up.

Hello John

I used the original caliper and the pad compound as shown on the order. I usually use two fingers and find the brake good. I have not tried to lock up the front but the fork dip is impressive. If I grabbed a handful of brake I think the brake would lock the wheel.

Comparison with the original is simply a no-brainer. :thumb2
