Reading threads over the last few months a lot of people seem to get 55mpg out of a GSA

can squeeze 35ltrs in mine and managed 260 miles on the last tankful

been using Gas chubby for the last 4000 miles

best i have had is 40mpg and now down to 33mpg with an average of 36mpg

bike is a 2010GSA with 8000miles from new

asked at the last service and they said it is all fine,

I dont like to hang about and do like a traffic light sprint, but the fuel consumption is as bad as my Duke,

am i just being mean, should I stop looking with envy at those who get 55mpg and accept that this is the price for having fun

I get anywhere between 47mpg and 52mpg but thats trusting the onboard computer thingy. I usually fill up after 300 odd miles and usually put in about 28-30 litres. Roughly 11 miles a litre on average seems OK to me so yours is drinking it. I don't do any motorway riding so fastish A/B roads, one up.

i'm getting 340 miles out of a tank of fuel. commute down the A1 into central london everyday..... Perhaps you need to use 5th and 6th gear :blast

When the traffic allows around 85 on A1 but a bloody snails pace up the finchley road :augie

If I'm 100% london commuting, it'll do 300 miles to a tank. Then take 33+ ltr.

Ride "sensibly" for a couple of tankfulls and see how it goes? Worst MPG on my GS was low thirties, but that was down to a tank of dodgy fuel in Spain. Do you always fill up at the same place?

Fuel consumption

".....but the fuel consumption is as bad as my Duke,...." You must chage your habits - changing your bike is not enough!

Also zero the average miles readout. If you've had a good ride at say 30 mpg, riding like a corpse wont increase the average mpg that much.

Gas Cubby is indeed addictive and hate it if I dont record my fill ups.

Boot it to work MPG is around 36, cruise and enjoy the scenery and ive had 66 out of it 8-)

Is there an Android version of Gas Cubby?

Paul - I go the other way (Wandsworth to Welwyn Garden City) and have seen a GSA a few times. I'll give you a nod next time :beerjug:

On the consumption side: avg 300 miles a tank. In the Alps I was getting 340 and I would have thought it would be less than motorway riding.

To get 45-50mpg you need to be in top gear for most of your trip, as soon as you start using the lower gears on a regular basis fuel consumption plummets.:comfort

From another thread mentioning Gas Cubby a month of varying riding styles 8-)
