Hi,
I normally get 350/360 from a tank, although I have drilled a quarter inch hole at top of the plastic filler tube - this lets me squeeze in some extra juice. If I stick to the 70/75mph, I get around 60mpg & get up to 65mpg on minor roads, if i short-shift and don't over-rev in lower gears.

Just ridden from Chiswick in London, out to Chichester and back to Wandsworth. Mixture of A3 motorway, A286 good country A road and some lane or other. Blown away. Average spped according to on board computer is 44mph and consumption comes in at 55.4mpg.
Love it!

Twin cam tank size

Did they not reduce the tank size by 2 litres when they went to the newer model.?:aidan

Alps trip last year:

Totals 2837.3 miles on 193.5Litres = 66.6 mpg

That's just under 400miles on a FULL tank of 6 Imperial gallons.

Best 71.9mpg over the Nockalmstrasse

(70.3mpg over the GrossGlockner - 200 mile round trip from Malta, including some Autobahn work at the end)

Worst 62.0 mpg heading down Autobahn (Maastriche, Hockenheim) but not hammering it, just keeping up with the flow.

N.B. Always use Super Unleaded, when available.

The super unleaded argument seemed to work for me too - year pervious i was getting 49.8 miles to gallon on trip to France / Spain - on trip to Germany / Austria last year was getting 54.6mpg - only real difference i could see was that I used Super Unleaded cos bike ran smoother in hot weather (well so it was explained to me but not sure).
