why does my computer not turn on with a 4 port usb hub plugged into the back ?

Pull it out and it starts up.

If you have a USB key, a disk drive or any other storage device plugged in, the computer's probably trying to boot off it and failing.

That's what I was going to say. Maybe ensure that in the BIOS you only have the hard drive and cd/dvd drive as bootable as I assume you don't have a floppy drive?

no nothing plugged into the adaptor.

next problem (?) is that a box with applehebi keeps coming up

cant find out what it means - click ok and it goes.

all security has been run and its still there.
