43l hpm tank fitting issues..

hey folks. ive had the nylon (paintable) hpn/acerbis tank on my r100gs for ages now (well over ten years) and its always been a tight fit. now the old girls been having a bit of a spruce up which has taken well over a year and in that time the tank has been off the bike. ive been trying to fit the bugger again recently and there's no way i can get it to line up with the rear mounting points. it appears the bloody thing has grown!!! has anyone else had problems like this? and could somebody measure the length of one, front to back, through the top tube tunnel for me? ta. karl.

Are you using the bolt on fitting kit? possibly just adjust the fixing points?!?

Looks like you are the latest victim of the high ethanol content of modern petrol ........... those of us with Triumph Tigers have had tanks grow by an inch or more in the last few years

hi chris. do you really think that could be the issue? is it likely to keep on growing? (50l would be quite usefull!!) cheers for the info. karl
