No offence meant :blast - couldn't edit my post after to point that out.

Never crossed my mind!... Really.

The lockable cap has a tube that points out side of cap so tube goes under bib and straight back unencumbered.

??. My tank has a short neck. I have a lockable cap. The tankbag pad fits snug on the tank and so the tube must exit above the pad but below the bag... no?

Anyway, I don't feel that the odd bit of fuel sloshing out will be a problem.

Many years ago, a mate had a Colt frame with a BSA C11 motor fitted. To this he added clip-ons. They squashed his thumbs on the lock. So, as was the fashion, he hammered a couple of dents in the tank to avoid this. The hammering split the joints in the tank and every time you came to a stop, fuel sloshed out over the downpipe as it exited the head. We used to sit up in case it went up, but it never did:eek:

I'm just about to swap my tank off. I'd have sold you mine. 43 ltr tanks are impressive in size however I've never found that my wife with her 18 ltr tank can't make it between fuel stations. The big tank costs more in fuel consumption, makes the bike heaver, hides that it's BMW (causing problems with customs check points in far off places) makes oil changes hard, makes it necessary to move the oil radiator which then rubs on the mudguard.

If it was me I'd get an airhawk seat which is a necessary for a long trip and pocket the change.

Some of these tanks are getting pretty old now. Are there any issues with 20 or 30 year old nyhlon tanks getting brittle etc? I've not heard of any but just wondered.

These look like a viable bag. Should sit back onto the saddle nose a la KTM, fare enough to clear the filler.

I bought my HPN tanks used it it came with this home remedy for a tank bag... think this is a Euro brand?
