450 - Price released

Bmw Motorrad list a price of GBP5,101 today for the G450X so the deed is done :)

What have I done............ :(
 
just got a tax refund on a prepayment

please take my cheque book away before its too late

I was expecting a price nearer 6k. Clearly competing with ktm.

Hopefully there will be extras i can add to make it up :rolleyes:
 
Ovenpaa. the price has been shown of the bike configurator part of BMW-motorrad website for a few weeks now, yet when I went to Southport Superbikes (now my nearest dealer since Bluebell went t!ts-up:spitfire), they didn't have a price to tell me.:nenau
At £5101 it will be under cutting the orange Austrian efforts somewhat. Let's hope its not a lemon.....

I have one on order from Alan Jeffries in Shipley just checked the price with them they say its still £5599. Where did the £5101 come from?

Given that the price has been advertised as £5101, surely that is what you can pay.:nenau

Mine is listed as Status 077 - in simple terms this means no production week and no quota available however there is a big dealer meeting today where more information will be released.

The rumour mill lists

Some sort of cover for the filler cap (This may come as standard)
3cm lower seat
Alloy bash plate
Full factory race system (Akro also list a full race G450X system)
SM wheels option to follow


How many here are getting these things? Will I see one on every street corner? Have I just ordered the Ford Mondeo of the motorbike world????

I WANT IT NOW.

I have asked for a full system and SM wheels and full power of course :)

I have no idea if these will happen tho...
 
An update....

BWM dealers are now quoting GBP5695 for the first release followed by GBP6195 afterwards.

Launch date options will include:

Tail pack
Race pocket for stage cards
2 exhaust options, one a can the other a full Ti Akra system (You will need one or other to release the full power)
2 Hand guard options, apparently at least one is branded Acerbis

Exhaust (full power option)
Timecard pocket
Sump guard.

That will do for starters.

Dealer? Hehehehe NEVER! I just rang around a few dealers and asked them what they knew and checked against Google. So it sounds like you need to get back and have a chat.

My only disappointment is a lack of SM option however I am warming to the idea of another Enduro bike after many years and my heart has always been with MX type things.

As my wife pointed out last night, it is light enough to hang on the back of the car and take to Denmark where we have miles and miles of empty beaches and fire tracks, I will have a blinding time and intend to run it as my only road bike so I should get a lot of fun out of it. :thumb

EDIT- BTW I rang BWM 'Customer service' Friday to ask why the price on the site was different to the dealer but they have been unable to explain so far....
 
I noticed that too,i spoke to a chap on the BMW stand at the launch in Wales and asked him why the price on the web site was different to the price given out by the dealers. At first he refused to believe me but then said he would check the web, maybe they realise they have cocked it up.my price acording to the dealer is £5695 Any body know what the law is on advertised prices?

The bmw-motorrad.co.uk website has had the G450X and it's price put back on the 'bike configurator'.
The price has now gone up to £5601, so the price has increased by £500.......

I am starting to think BWM are dangerous! A couple of weeks ago I rang BMW and spoke to Stuart in the product information team and asked him to conform the price for the G450X. He told me GBP6200 so I pointed out it had said GBP5101 on Bike configurator and my dealer have quoted a different price again, so he passed me over to Sheila who was ever so helpful and told me it was GBP5995 confirmed price plus OTR first reg fee and RFL of say 120 quid

I really have NFI what they are playing at :nenau
