Hiya guys test rode a 48 the weekend, well had one for 20mins.overall very impressed(apart from the seat).the only thing that worries me is why are there so many low mileage ones for sale.some have only done 1500 miles.I know Harleys are really a practical commuter but who on earth spends £9500+£2.5k on extras and then sells it for £7k after only been ridden round the block on it.are there any underlying issues I should be wary of before I buy?
Hi Bart, no underlying issues except.. It's different.. I'm sure they're all a little different, to what I'm normally used to riding..
Fuel range is 55miles before the light comes on (from full)
Fuel range is 72 miles from full to running totally out..
Wind protection is minimal, at 70mph it's comfortable, I fitted the small screen to mine now it's happy to sit at 80ish
No storage for 'stuff'
No passenger option as standard, I fitted rear pegs which are great to put my feet on at speed..
Quiet engine with standard exhaust, fitted vance short shots at £450 & now a grim appears every time I ride it..
Suspension a bit bumpy on B roads, harsh but liveable..
Seat I changed for a weird hand made leather one off ebay, it holds me when I accelerate, so a good move..
I've ordered a load of bits from USA to make it 'perfect' little bike.. Not a full on Harley but for me it'll do.. It's a head turner when go to bike meets in my non Harley clothing..
Good luck getting a cheap one as I tried for months on ebay & bike trader, every one sold so quick, I ended up with Lincoln Harley's demo with white tank fir not much less than a new one..
But I'm happy with it..
