Really? I was thinking about a long weekend in Dublin with the Missus......IMO Dublin is not a safe city, lots of tourists get battered in Dublin / Temple bar
I survived twice on my own.Really? I was thinking about a long weekend in Dublin with the Missus......
I'd be in Dublin a couple of times a year and have yet to be battered.......let alone sprinkled with salt and lightly fried......that said as proposed above go west young man. (Is Landmark John an agent provocateur for the Galway tourist board?) Galway is a lovely city to be fair and well worth a visit. I had a (now sadly deceased) uncle that lived in Salthill so I've been in the city many times.Really? I was thinking about a long weekend in Dublin with the Missus......

Then of course there's the Boreens, or dual carriageways, as the locals like to call them. These are very muchly worth fishing out for some tranquil riding (as long as you concentrate that is)

I'm probably exaggerating but as I get older I wouldn't like to be wandering about after 23:00. A quick google suggests to clear Temple Bar by 21:00.Really? I was thinking about a long weekend in Dublin with the Missus......
Ah yeah but you look more like a mugger than a muggee DocI survived twice on my own.
I go to Ireland / Dublin a lot and am proud to say that I have never been to Temple Bar. To me, it looks a lot like parts of London - set up to relieve stupid tourists of their cash, when there are far better pubs within spitting distance that don't extract the urine.I wouldn't leave a bike on the street in Dublin.

My advice is get west and stay west/south.
Get on the WAW
It is like London (or any City). Avoid the sh1tty areas and you will be fine. Spent a great weekend in Dublin last year (apart from the rugby - Quins got hammered by Ireland, sorry Leinster). Myself, Wapping of this Parish, Mrs ChasMill and our boy plus another reprobate. We had some local knowledge (Mrs ChasMill is a native)Really?
