I'm sorting my routes out using 'Tyre', as I always do.

When I send the routes to my 590 the route is not following the roads. It is straight lining from one point to another.

Anyone had this and found a remedy ?

And no I won't use Garmin's crapbase, as it's a pile of poo......................

Thank you to all the sensible replies.

Why use Tyre which uses different maps to those on your Garmin? Sounds like it needs to recalculate the route, have you tried getting the device to recalculate? How are you sending the routes to the device? You could use Mapsource instead of Basecamp, your 590 can be set up to work with Mapsource although it wont as is.

Base camp is not a pile of poo if you spend hours on the internet learning how to use it.

Which is why its a pile of poo.

My 590 gets on very well with Motogoloco.

PS Basecamp is far from a pile of poo.

You are both right and wrong Mr Wapping................... To develop/construct a route is a right royal PITA using Basecamp...... IMHO.

But watching your video taught me how to import the 'Tyre' Gpx route, recalculate it using the units mapping, which makes it work perfectly.

So I thank you sir............................ Basecamp is still a pile of poo though ! lol.

Hi Gargy

I posted similar questions about why Tyre routes were giving straight lines between waypoints in a thread about the closely-relate Nav V. You might find some of the posts interesting or at least relevant.
