If anyones wondering, I just rang my dealer to get the bike booked in for January, thought I'd pre-empt it. The 600 mile service is................£271 😲

I'd be interested to know what they did for that?

Apparently, and I do stress "apparently" the 1300 uses more oil than previously. He said it uses 5 litres of oil which in itself bumps up the price. But I'm pretty sure it's just oil and a checkup so it does seem pretty steep sadly.

Get used to it as how things are going things will only get more expensive…The idiots print money , CO2 BS tax , no cheap hydrocarbons from Russia , billions for wars , mass migration , mass unemployment , more money printing a downward spiral…In the end we will ride chinese bicycles and be happy to save the world…🤣 As for the service itself for the money you get 5 quarts of oil , a oilfilter and 4 shotglasses / new gasket of rear drive oil…The dealer has to live too because the internet or china wont repair your bike when its not working anymore ! You play you pay…

I think they also change the oil in the shaft drive 👍 so bargain 🫣

I traded my S1000R Sport in back in Nov, it had a full system, and now the dealer is asking for the OEM headers if I have them (I do).

Gotta be worth a free service. Can only try. If the shoe was on the other foot I’d be getting a 1k bill.

Asked at time of ordering for a free run in service, after p/x price agreed on my 1250GSA, "Yes fine" said the man. Always worth asking, no deal on the bike, but 1st service, luggage, tracker can be negotiated.

Spend 20 odd thousand on a toy, then go back the next month, bend over and take another dry bumming.
A far cry from the days when your friendly local dealer would tell you to run it in, and bring it back for them to fettle as part of the sale.

Yeah I noticed! I’ll be sending him a text asking how he got that 🤣
Did you not ask if they would chuck it in for free? I've found this is always a question there're prepared for, this will be my 4th GS/A and never been invoiced.

Seriously.... Their taking dry bumming to a new level... Buy the oil and filter yourself, you'll still be within your warranty and probably just under £200 better off

With a good bit of negotiating at the point of sale, first service has been included....... I suppose it depends on your dealer / customer relationship though...aways prefer face to face and no internet sales..........
