600mile service cost...

Thats where Im currently at. 2018. Rallye GSA with TFT Connectivity, Immaculate still. Owned outright since purchased. All servicing done by me, including GS-911. The new Adv next year, may scupper that

Yeah, same here, I’m just going from a 2016 GS that I service myself with MotoScan app to a 1300 GS which I guess is going to cost me some cash for servicing

Oh well, that’s the down side of new bikes, can’t take it with you :nenau

There are plenty on here where 300 notes is short change hence BMW will prosper.
With ownership it is the TCO total cost of ownership that has to be calculated. That includes insurance costs and depreciation.

If you cannot afford the 300 service. Ask your self. Can you really afford that particular bike? Or is it a case smoke and mirrors?

I don't need it, but i know i will, with new ADV launch. Also, the huge number of owners are on the PCP wagon, PCP giving someone something they can't really afford.

Seriously.... Their taking dry bumming to a new level... Buy the oil and filter yourself, you'll still be within your warranty and probably just under £200 better off
Yes that’s what I would have been charged for oil +filter change for a service on my 2011 gsa ,I did that part myself and they did the rest of the service, however they would not reset the service light .

Thats BMW to the tee for you :confused2:

Managed the last 210 miles I needed yesterday to hit the running in mileage, it's into tomorrow for the service and a tracker fitting (insurance stipulated).

Roads were greasy as heck yesterday and then it pissed down. As you can see I was achieving MotoGP levels of lean :ROFLMAO:

You'll have to let us know if you need new pads, and the cost of course will be 👍

What is the current BMW hourly £rate + Vat I wonder?
Whatever the dealer in question thinks they can get away with.

FWIW, I realised the Independent outfit I used for the last service on my 1200R billed 3 hours work for a 6K service whereas a franchised dealer would bill 2 hours. I'm sure they're very thorough. They may be independent but they have the factory system access, so my service was recorded. They certainly had printed service items required, all marked up BMW...

I paid £1,000 for 5 services that will include a couple of the big expensive ones when I bought my bike.

No mention of pads, all ok. Entire bill was £423 for the service and the tracker plus fitting. The breakdown was about £241 in parts, £111 in labour and the rest in VAT.

A hefty sum, does the tracker have a monthly cost, never had one fitted ?

Yeah, £12.49 a month or £119 a year. I'd never have bothered if it wasn't for the insurance.
Guessing you had a datatool stealth fitted? I'd be interested in how you think this might start to drain the battery, I'm still running in and last used the bike a week ago. Although I've been fiddling with luggage looking and setting up comms and phone my bmw charger showed as charging 26%, garage is very cold though, now 96% and starts normally.
