Think whether it's worth taking the service pack depends on how many miles you do in the 3 years. Some things are dependant on mileage eg 12,000mile checking valve clearances. Plus if there's a service pack on the bike dealers only do what is mentioned in the service pack. If they are doing it without a service pack they may check a few extra things eg take brake pads out and clean\grease backs of pads etc. plus do you pay up front for the service pack?? What happens if you sell the bike after 2 years.
Someone earlier in this thread mentioned the rear bevel gear oil being included in the running in service. I don’t think it is on the schedule but has anyone else had it included, without request.

As for the dealers doing a bit extra, load of shite, they work as per the service schedule, unless you pay more.
Cotswold did mine on the GS in 2020 during the initial service. IIRC they didn't charge any labour, just the cost of the parts but I've traded the bike in since so can't check for sure.
Always grease the back of my rear brake pads, no issues in the 150,000 miles of servicing my own bikes. Brake works well and no excessive wear.
So why shouldn’t they be greased?
It's not ordinary grease it's a special type for the job and it's not a load of shite thank you for your not very polite comment.
BMW use a moly paste, got some sachets in the garage???
Had mine changed , no grease on mine . I also never grease them , but I do wear them out fast lol maybe occasionally a knats cock of copper on the pins ,,, maybe but not as a rule.
Wear has nothing to do with the grease you apply , it has more to do with how much you use the brakes . I did however used to grease the pads on my cortina back in the day .

Just done my 1000km service, cost 173 euros
Only charged for the consumables, no labour
Had the starter relay replaced, didn’t know mine was effected
Oh and they changed the final drive oil too as it’s the running in service
No problems encountered yet

I always grease the pads where they meet the calliper on cars, I used to be a mechanic and have had to get primitive (Read, persuade with a hammer and drift) on too many sets of pads which were fitted dry. On bikes I do the same and have never had a problem, I use CeraTec brake pad grease.
My issue is with a new bike which, from factory does not have greased pads . If I started to do non factory things , say goodbye to the warranty. Personally I would like to run the original 1250 rear pads , but they are slightly different, so again it’s the , you change you pay the price .
It’s annoying but due to the uneven wear they have decided to change the caliper.
Disc is 20% down at 2K but that another bridge to cross lol

Next time, buy a Ducati. Dealers and servicing costs are much more reasonable plus they seem to recall the bikes much less often. 
Had my 600 mile service last Friday 5th at 738 miles, tried to get as near the 745 mile (1200 km) as I could. Disappointed they didn’t do the final drive but it’s not scheduled until 12k. They mentioned the fact that it needs 5 ltrs of oil and therefore is more expensive than the 1250. Mine was free because of the deal I did but it would have been £217.
I’ll probably do the FD myself as I’ve got some BMW stuff from my 1250 days, just wondering what mileage would be appropriate? I did my 1250 at 6k.

^^^It seems odd that the final drive oil is not changed at the running in service now and is left until 12k, mine was changed at this service (~700 miles and a 1250)

Mine FD oil was changed on the first service at 600 miles, so I think it must be on the schedule.
Yes mine was done at 600 mile and without me asking.
