650 Dakar expanding panniers

I bought a secondhand Dakar on Saturday, which came with BMW expanding panniers. I've fiddled about with the yellow "tabs" inside the boxes, and despite alot of pulling and wriggling, I can't get the boxes to expand.
Can someone please let me into the secret of how to make the boxes expand.

They do take a bit of pulling out especially if they have not been expanded in a while

Squirted loads of WD 40 where the boxes expands, and gave a good tug. Boxes now work fine!

Brilliant ...

... now your clothes will smell of oil; although it is the recommended way to get unused slidy bits to slide

What you need now is a pair of OEM expandable inner bags; pm me if you're interested
