Hi guys,
Bit of advance preparation this. I am hoping to head out to Africa long term within the year and i'm giving serious thought to sticking a newish xt660 tenere in a container to take with me (whilst I love my 800gs its not the right bike to take out long term).
I've done some research into improvements I can make to 'Africanise' the bike but in the process also noticed the bike isn't without its fault. The problem is, I'm struggling to find detailed information on the fixes. Can anyone offer advice on:
1) Problem with the regulator? This being too close to the front wheel and causing wiring problems?
2) Cush drive wearing out quickly?
Note that despite once rebuilding a 1988 250XR I'm not technically minded!
Any advice, links, pics would be gratefully received.
