4.00 is now availalbe on Webupdater.

Changes from version 3.90 to version 4.00:
Added support for an additional manufacturer's display.

Which basically means a bit of extra software to allow for the fact that new 660's have a screen provided by a different manufacturer from OE.

As far as I've heard there is no advantage in updating for exisiting users. So if you are about to go on a long trip, I'd wait till you get back to be on the safe side. :)

Bit strange as you'd have expected the updated units to ship with the relevant drivers/software or they wouldnt work..
Maybe they'd hidden some bug fixes they didnt want to make public..

I got a replacement 660 from Garmin about 6 weeks ago and it was loaded with vers4.00.

Are new owners Beta testers for Garmin?:D

They already are, see post above from Gizmo :)

But it does beg the question why older users would need the update if that's all there is?

Version 4.10 availalbe now:

Changes made from version 4.00 to 4.10:
Fixed a problem where the volume of navigation voice prompts was not consistent.
Fixed an issue where the preferred road name was not used for the navigation voice prompt.
Fixed inconsistency between navigation voice volumes when the Master and Media Volume are set to 100%.
Increased the volume of proximity alarms transmitted over Bluetooth or analog headsets.
Fixed a display problem in the music volume screen.
Fixed a problem where the unit appeared to hang on startup while loading maps.

Yippee!

Been waiting for this one, volume issues have been the bane of my riding/driving life for months.

Let's hope they've got it right this time :augie
