Meanwhile,getting back to the thread , I fitted the cheese carrier to the LR today.

Specially designed to carry a 2.5 kgs piece of cheddar, as a pound of butter in the fridge will no longer suffice !

By the time you have finished it will be 5x the price of a 640 Adv and nearly half as good

Once you pay extra for the obligatory power up kit and a remapped ECU they are the same money as a 701, then factor in a few bits'n'bobs for either bike and neither is going to be cheap.
I've not seriously costed the value of the 1190 but off the top of my head, 2014 with mid 20's miles = 7k(ish) I'll need at least another 3-4k.

At least the 20mm I chopped out of the side stand was free, and possibly the best mod of the lot

I've just looked on the web site and have to say that looks like one very well thought out bash plate, possibly one of the nicest I've seen, period

Got the bike back from having the lights,switches and accessory sockets wired in.
So that’s it,apart from a couple of bits from Nomad,I’m done.
Very pleased with the bike.
The lights are very bright.

The only thing I’d like to do would be to take some of the connections off the battery.
It’s ok, but what with heated grips, heated vest etc its a tad messy.
The only trouble is there isn’t much room under the seat.
Does anyone know of a small busbar thingy or whatever they are called that attaches to the battery then lets you power accessoires remotely,if y’a know what I mean ?
I know others have attached something to the fairing/tower but I’d rather not if possible.Ta.

those front tanks and raid fairing will be good at keeping you warm on those colder wet rides . I used a Denali power hub 2 on my Africa twin , great things if you can find somewhere for it .

I didn't particularly like the look of the OE bike as it just looked too fat at the front, but the mods you have made have transformed it and I think it looks bloody 'tastic now.

I'd heard similar, it seems strange doesn't it? The only thing I could think of is they have just/or are about to launch it in the States, maybe they see that as a more lucrative market for what is a low volume bike so are concentrating on selling them over there

Have to agree with Toddy, the new graphics and tower have transformed and slimed down the front of the bike, looks great
