A while ago, someone popped into the workshop ,asking if I had a /5 for sale.
At the time nothing was available.
I have a lead on a project .
Shout up if it’s of interest,

Saving it for you
I’ll probably keep it for a while

[mikeyboy]

Hmmm,
Deal done

[mikeyboy]

Phew,that made me sweat a bit.all unloaded
Some pics

[mikeyboy]

It’s actually not bad

[mikeyboy]

Almost complete,
Only parts missing are side panels, and headlamp reflector/glass/chrome ring
Owner told me it had a sidecar fitted and a big fairing, hence the missing bits

[mikeyboy]

I’ll stick out of the way for a bit,
Other bikes to finish

[charlie batty]

..whats the story on it Mikey....someone started 'something' but life interupted ?

[mikeyboy]

Prev owner had it from nearly new,
Had a sidecar on it to cart his young family round.
Took it apart years ago for a refresh and it never went back together.
Frame etc was powdered but it’s been so long it needs doing again( properly)
The owner and his son approached me to restore but couldn’t justify the expense to them selves.

Hi Mike,

I asked you about a /5 a couple of years ago after I had been to look at a couple in Lincoln and Sunderland.

At the time you advised me Duncan (RIP) may be selling his airheads so I took the opportunity to buy his G/S.

Looks like I made the right decision.

Good luck with this project.

Watching with great interest Mike

Me too,,lol
I’m going through my normal WTF to do with it phase.
Weighing up if it could be worth the restoration costs,
Ponder a few days

[mikeyboy]

Well,
The gears are in motion,
If anyone wants this as a project they need to shout up now,
The frame etc is going for powder tomorrow,
The tank etc is off for paint.
Mainly to get it out of my way.lol
I’m thinking of painting it this colour.
