Break it. Front fork sliders on US Ebay. Not the whole front end as the postage is a killer. £100 for the clocks if they're ok. You should see the best part of £1000 for the parts.

or a pair of mudguards, standard seat, low bars and ditch the silly tyres and you could be getting to a usable bike if everythings ok.

Personally I'd break it.

it was cheap ! but......it does come with most of the standard parts,seat unit,stainless silencers,side panels,front indicators,crash bars and hard panniers and frames, the boy PO has cut 2 inches off the sub frame! so im after another.
the tyres will have to go, i rode it today and it felt awful.

id hate to break up a bike like this ,ive known it for a few years and the motor and running gear are good,it s only the last po that did this,realised hed screwed it up and left it in an underground car park near the seafront.
im thinking of chucking it back together with the standard parts and moving it on as a resto project , still have stuff to do on my g/s and a k75 to run.

Get it along to Airhead Weekend in June (see Events).

We have tons of spares (including rear subframes) and lots of other bits to turn this into something unique for you.

But as Rob says, hope it was cheap.

I might be collecting my son from Brighton for the Weekend so could even transport your bike back here if need be. Let me know.

I always think its a bit of a shame to break bikes if they can be brought back to life.

well i spent a day giving her a bit of a clean up and taking off the crap and sorting out a box of bit s .
still at pains to break it up, as said before in the thread , she would break for a grand, so if someone is looking for a project then pm me an offer, 45000 gen miles on the clock, possible more bits to follow, if i can hold down the PO !! v5 is present. i need to get on with the g/s and my jeep !!

ive now found all the bits to put her back to standard
looking at the front brakes , the inner pads on both sides seemed to have worn into a wedge shape ! dont know much about these type of calipers but looking at the design it would seem this is bound to happen.
any advice on treating these things to get them working properly?

Swinging caliper ate brakes have a wedge shape by design, weird I know but if set up properly, actually produce some gentle retardation.
Which for an airhead, is something
Setting up the eccentric pivot on the swinging caliper is a dark art according to some folk, but I never seem to have a problem.

thanks proff, just saved me from buying new pads a quick strip and clean up and see how they work, cant be any worse than original g/s ones!
