8.5 degrees on the motorway today. 2 more degrees and my nuts can return to their normal size :thumb

Took my 800GS in for it's 12K service. £410 including a new chain. :( This was at Coopers in Tunbridge Wells. Who is Dave? He has a grey f800gs like mine and they told me all about you and your travels.

The loan bike they gave me was an f650gs twin. This was my first time on one of these. What did i think... Power was fine, it could keep up with an f800gs any day (not sure about top end or with luggage though). It felt smaller framed, very nimble, forgiving and FUN. Unlike my f800gs which feels far more serious. Ride quality, you need an iron back-side on both and there was equal vibration coming up through the handle bars. Overall, i prefer the 800, it feels stronger and more like a mans bike, sorry 650 riders :kissy2

Finally, ran out of fuel on the way this morning. Had to push my 800 two miles up the motorway at 8.30am. Hard work! It still said that I have 5 miles of fuel left  (yes i have had the fuel gauge recall done).

8.5 degrees thats warm! what you gonna do when winter comes?

I think the frame on the 800 and 650 is the same! top end with luggage is fine! :thumb but i think given the choice of fun and serious 9 times out of 9 ide go for the Fun:blast

still it must have warmed you up pushing the mans bike! just think if you was on the F650 with the better MPG it probably would have got you there :augie

not sure about Dave! wasnt he Del boys brother? :comfort

On a serious note :rob

How much!!!!!!

Just had 12K done last week (BMW Dundee) including loan bike K1300s, £205.

I guess the lesson is to get a price before I book in. That way I could have gone to another dealer. Problem is that there is only one dealer in Kent :(

I did the 6K service myself to cut costs. It cost me about £45 in parts. May be my dealer wanted to make the money back.
