Leaving home (Switzerland) in a few days, meeting a mate in Barcelona then crossing from Almeria to Melilla on the overnight ferry. In stark contrast to my last trip, that's about as much planning as we have done :augie

The intention is to camp preferably wild camping unless attractive (organised sites just look like gravel car parks :nenau), not go too far west, definitely not to the big cities and stay in the hilly/mountainous/forested areas wherever possible. We want to enjoy the roads, scenery, tastes and sounds of Morocco with as little tacky tourism as possible.

We have 7 nights/8 days in Morocco and will return via Melilla/Almeria.

Any suggestions gratefully received :beerjug:

still cold and wet in morocco at this time of year.i would ditch the tent and b and b it, just my tuppence worth.

Make two piles

Make two piles of the kit you are planning on bringing .. One kit should consist of the money you plan to bring and the other pile should consist of the hardwear ie clothes ,tents etc.. For this time of the year in Morocco I reckon it would be best to ditch all the camping kit , half the clothes pile and double the cash pile and hotel it ...

Just got back and weather was great. 20-24C most days and never saw below 9C even in the mountains. Had one truly shocking morning of wind, heavy rain and fog from Chefchaouen to Ketama but it cleared up in the afternoon.

Stayed in hotels. Campsites were virtually non-existent and there were surprisingly few if any suitable wild camping locations.

Roads were fantastic and despite some major issues with potholes the riding was awesome :beerjug:

Most of the villages and towns however can only be described as sh**holes :augie

Great experience but wouldn't go again.
