For Sale 81 ThrupnyBits = £100+ postage

I’ve got a bag of them, amongst other old coins, are they worth anything?

Ok, let’s go large on this one. For many years my wife’s elderly uncle told her there was something of great value in the coal shed, and when he was gone she was to retrieve it.
When he passed we dug it out and this was it, 23kg in weight of mostly 2 shilling pieces, with a healthy dollop of 1 shilling pieces.
Nothing pre 1947.
Sat in my garage now, now idea what to do with them. 🤔View attachment 467049View attachment 467050
I'm sorry but you cannot talk about kilograms of weight when referring to shilling pieces.
It's lbs and oz only for old money.
23 kg equals 50 lb and 11.3 oz.
Nice tin by the way.
Sorry for interrupting your sale again Lord.

😊Good point, but if we’re talking old money can’t really have .3oz can we?

Got a load of old British coins….sadly no 1933 penny.
Got florins, shillings, half crowns, thrupenny bits…..even a silver thruppenny bit ( think silver, about same size as a modern 5p …..).
Dont think any of it is of any worth……sadly
