Ac port is very easy to fit just remove the allen bolts holding headlight on and you will see the colour coded female conections ... choose which one you want to power the Ac port ACC1 the socket stays live all the time the other ACC2 the socket is only live with ignition on both supplys are already fused under the seat :thumb2

All push fit conections ... the other power supply can be used for heated grips ect...

Think the Ac socket is about £15

Thanks for the step by spep fool proof instructions but just watch me mess it up:blast I'll let you know. Yes your right it is £15

I like the look of that heat sheild, I'm a bit worried about the nuclear reactor that seems to be getting out of control or I'm guessing thats what is happening by the amount of heat coming out from underneath the saddle, has anyone had battery problems due to this I wonder.
My mods have been simple enough so far, went down one tooth on the front sprocket, decatted the cans to try & get rid of some heat & dumped the suicidal karoo rubber ( I might have purchased the guts of a hundred horse bike for offroad use but I dont want to move to the checkout just yet )
Planned mods fitting different springs up front, 2 into 1 & ditch the clutch side pipe then fit suitable pipe, new rims something a bit tougher & narrower at the front, looking into shortening it a bit ( not by running headfirst into a wall ) swingarm & off-setting the front
Has anyone tried a rekluse clutch yet? id love to know how they are finding it
But one thing I have to say "I love it to bits ,it brings a smile to my face when I get out for a spin":aidan
Oh by the way I'm another who bought one without a testride.

Us impulse-buy non-test riders must be the "chosen one's" :bow:bow:bow:beerjug: thats the way I like to think of it as the other view of us people may have may not be so easy on the ear:)

Would be good to meet some of you at some point. I'll look that baskerville place up.

ps- As and when, give confused.com insurance a go. I saved nearly £200 and they were the one's who mentioned the value being £8400......yes thats right I said:augie

Goodnight all

You could also try the European forum over on AdvRider, plenty of KTM's there, have several UK meets each year, mainly in Wales where decent offroad riding is the aim.

I'm planning on taking my SE to Baskerville in May 09.

Let's get some Orange in the mix of tossers.

I'll be there. We'll have to hide some petrol cans in the bushes the week before and cover each other as we fill up in the dead of night.:gringo:hide.
Is it a room only event or can we camp on the grounds? "Should" be nice in may ha ha.

There is camping, though I hear the grass was a tad long this year.
I've booked a room in the hotel though.

Sod bringing spare petrol,I'm bringing these,as I hear the sheep-shaggers in those parts ration them :

Hallo, when you say you de-catted the cans do you mean you opened ans extracted them from the seemingly seeled stock pipes or got fancy one's without cats? Would be good if this were possible with the stock pipes as i think they if nothing else look ok. Im going to give them a chance as they are for the 1st 600miles then make a choice at the service. Not long till monday so better clear the garage. Rgs. R

Decatting

Oh yes very fancy way indeed

Step 1 remove pipes ( I know its obvious but!!!!) & place in vice with something wrapped around it so as not to mark the pipe
Step 2 Get large hammer drill & diamond tip masonry bit ( pretty much as big as you can get up there)
Step 3 Drill through the cat (don't be afraid to lean on the drill & have the stability arm on as the bit is inclined to stick)
Step 4 Get a long nose pliers & pull the remaining entrails of the cat out & give it a good shake to remove any dust/swarf from the can
Step 5 Refit the cans
All in all from removal to refitting takes about 45 mins
I know it sounds a bit drastic but the cans sound the same, look the same but the heat is reduced considerably
personally I'm happy I did it

£5900 :eek:Thats a great price a year ago they around the £7000 mark ...not been a big seller in the UK some have sat in the dealers for months...So us lucky feckers that bought one know what a great bike they are :D

If you plan to use the bike off road replace the bash plate...also i fitted a center stand very handy when mending puntures out on the trail...Blackdog cycle works for bash plate and center stand is off the 950 adv s ...
If your up for trail riding i will let you know when we are next out :thumb2

Yes thanks for the offer. Im up for getting muddy asap, want to get the 1st service out the way before then. Its filthy now but cant wait till I can open her up properly. Where do you usually ride? Im looking forward to that baskerville weekend, how many of us orange men usually turn up? I wired up an ac switch and now just need some bloody din plugs and some handguards. Im tempted by an alarm also as the local little shits have already expressed an interest. I hear they just plug in? What luggage do you have for yours? And do you need a frame for those claiming to be universal luggage bags. I see what everyone means now about the exhaust getting and staying bloody hot. My mate has a nice blister on his head from when he was leaning forward locking the bike:) Shouldnt laugh as im sure ill get caught out by it.:blast Rgs. Richard

Hallo sorry for the late reply. Dont suppose your anywhere near north wales are you? Your cat extraction skills would be useful. I take it you still have the bike and its not blown up? :) With the euro situation akro's are nearly £800:(Cheers. Richard

Hallo. How did the baskerville event go? I really wanted to come but house move to the sheep area you describe clashed:( I think all that is a myth anyway as I cant catch one and thought I was quite swift on my feet:) I take it you still own your se? Regards. Richard

Tell you what lads, put a 2-1 with Akra on the SE .... and then hang on while it points skywards!
Seems to have noticeably more torque at low revs ...

There are cheaper alternatives to Akra available (Wings look a good option?) I picked up pair of used carbon Mivv cans for £200 from my local dealer that came in with a PX.

One of the reasons the SE wheelies more readily is the lack of weight over the front end I think?

Three SE's out at once yesterday in Wales (Robbie, Pipster & myself) plus 5 other bikes, great days trailriding, the SE is a top machine. :thumb

I could do with a bargain like that!!! Wings look nice too. I am in colwyn bay north wales and dont think dealers around here give much away:( How much are the wings variety then please? I owe it to my bike to make her purr a bit more! Would be nice to join you all if your ever up this way. Richard

That will be a good part of the reason.
The motor feels very different though compared to the adv... much sharper.

With a 2-1, you can barely keep the front on the ground :D
