950SE

it's not that much lighter than the adv, but oooooooooh so much fun :D:D:D

Does anyone know where there are any left ? I am thinking of trading in my 990 Adv for one.

Regards Gedjack.

Was out with Possu at the weekend and this subject came up I'm sure he said there are a few of the original ones left in the UK :thumb2

As Timpo mentioned he's the one to talk too ...Good luck

Drysdales in Perth might be worth a shout they certainly had 950sm but not sure of se.

That is going to be tomorrows job. What is your opinion on them compared to the my Adv, which i do really like. Could i tour on the SE once a year with my mate in Europe, with a few mods, i.e. seat and screen and possibly the bigger tanks.

No problem.

I'm taking mine on Magnum's Alps trip in September.

I much prefer it to the 990 Adv,as KTM had carbed fuelling 100% spot on,whereas they have yet to crack FI.

The SE was a bargain last summer.

They were on sale in UK for £6300.

Just add big tank for £500 :

Renazco seat arriving in next few weeks.

Black Dog rack and bash plate also recommended.

Job done for much less than just basic price for new Adv 990.

Do the Adv luggage racks fit on the SE ? I do not have the panniers but they are good crash protection when you come off in the dirt, which i do a lot at the mo

No,but the SM ones do.

But the panniers are fabric and not waterproof.

I had some but sold them.

I prefer to use the Black Dog rack with Kaoko bag and also 30 litre roll sack.

Holan, who I distribute for in the UK, are in the process of developing pannier frames for the SE. They'll be standards based so that you can fit a range of panniers such as Zega or Ard Cases. I have a similar set on my HP2 which are great for hard and soft panniers and also give that crash protection that I need as well :blast

If you're interested, just drop me a PM :thumb2

Any news on this yet Mav? Will order ARDcases once I have a timeframe for pannier frames from Holan. I'll pay upfront if that helps spur them in to action a little quicker.

yes they do but they need a bit of cutting and welding and you need to drill a hole in the plastic side panel but they come up on e-bay at a good price and like you say if your gonna offroad it and we all fall off posh ones will soon be fcuked

Cheers Loz,
i already have them on my Adv and if i trade it in i will just swap them over. Just needed to know if they would fit with a bit of fettling.

the two mounts for the grabrail holes can be bent into place but you might need spacers for the bolts, ask possu nicely and he might make them for you
the support that goes to the pillion peg has to be cut off and shortened and the plate for the bolts has to be altered a bit
its a bit of messing about but as you know they are very strong
i've done the length of Portugal and Croatia Slovenia offroad with camping gear and no problems
