My old hack/loan bike clocked 95000 miles today -

bit rattley but still runs as sweet as a nut

The big one in 5K miles :D

Neil, that lends itself to a "Who can beat the mileage on this" type thread.....

Says alot for the longevity of the beast...:thumb

Doesn't look much worse than mine:( So what's gone wrong in 95K miles then?

:D :D :D :D
also how much of that milage is city riding/motorway/off-road???
and which oil?
Finally it seems we have a reliable B*W here  we've got to make the most of it

You must've done a course with Simon Pavey, too !
He got us to ride along with our front wheel locked, but we used the brake.

Yeah Iron Butt God tell em how many of them miles you've done or since its been in your ownership :D

It's done about 3~4 K Mile since i've had it -

I've personally done 40 of those miles - :D

Most of it's life has been spent going up and down the M4 -

it's got a big file of work and MONEY thats been spent on it at a Main dealer ( just outside the M25 ) that certainly knows how to charge - i.e. gearbox and fitting £1600 !!!!!

It was a very very bad starter - changed the lambda, it now starts on the button every time.

Just has the usual R/H side throttle body rattle ( they all do that sir)

Only 1600 quid for a new gear box and fitting :thumb I know someone who very recently shelled out Euro 2500 (GBP 1750) for his on an 1100 :( It had done about 90,000 km before dieing.

Just out of interest - how much should someone expect to pay for a job like that - assuming it's not done by a rip off B#W main dealer ?

And why to replace the whole gearbox if there's possible to change some broken details too, right?

I've ridden that bike and liked it a lot. PX an 1100 would you Guv'nor!:P :D

I did about 30k of the 95 and was also the poor sod who forked out for all the expensive work! False economy for me but it has so many new bits it should go on forever! Nice to see it again.
