Accidently filled up with this on Saturday going to the bike show.
I fill up just before the motorway to avoid the price premium. It is about 240 miles from there to NEC & back & 50 miles of A roads each way.
Normally I get 45 mpg when using all the horses, & 45 mpg :nenau taking it steady.
On Saturday I did 237 miles & could only squeeze 20 litres in. That is 53 mpg. :thumby:
It cost me an extra £2 for the 97 ron petrol but I got an extra 36 miles from the 20 litres. Usually I have to do a splash on the motorway to get the 237 miles. As normal unleaded petrol is £5 60 at the moment, it seems to be a winner.
Couple of other points, it took me 2 3/4 hours to do the run with no filtering which happens on week days & 3 hours travelling time. Also 30 miles at 50mph in road works this time. Always have panniers & topbox on, & solo.
Note again that I always seem to get 45 mpg whatever.
A thought to chew on

i have always thought you better mpg with super unleaded fuel over the standard cheaper stuff.

I track my fuel useage on fuely.com and when it crunched all the numbers for it, the cost per mile was the same using cheap stuff or the super stuff. Yet riding on the super stuff gives more miles to the tank, and always made the bike feel that little bit more smooth and responsive. Just stick to the super stuff now.
