A bit too cheap to be true?

A friend of mine sold his 98 RT recently for over 3K, very clean admittedly but this looks too cheap. Plus it's being sold due to lack of use and it's on a UK plate???

Be carefull.

especially with the new vrt system that came into place today

yeah, when they take an extortionate unfair amount of your money they also take yer balls too:mad:

the important word in my question was "changes", they have been doing as you described since the system was established.

de crowe,
the change;

now NCT centres are doing the VRT / importation paperwork.

see here for details.

i predict hassle with this bright idea :rolleyes:

e.g.
what if you have a Bike brought over say - in a van, there's no proof of WHEN it was imported.
What if you buy a U.K. Bike with expired MOT?
an invoice from seller is required - what will the reaction be if you produce a handwritten receipt?

this could get interesting.

It's going to be a royal pain in the wotsit. All imported cars over 4 years old will need a current MOT cert. The muppets in the NCT centres are basically clueless and completely devoid of the notion customer service. The cow in little island refused payment from me via my laser card because they're rules demand a cheque garantee cards only. I pointed out that lasers are garanteed up to €130 as printed in big letters on the card itself but she couldn't get her thick head around it. Another time I watched with growing interest as the " tester " struggled and failed to find the reverse gear in my Triumph Spitfire. Eventually another fella had to come over and show him.

At the NCT test centre in Sligo.
I watched a guy on his knees for the best part of 15 minutes trying to find the bonnet opening handle underneath the dash of a spitfire. Eventually I went out and put him out of his misery and showed him the 2 shiny handles on the bonnet itself. His reply was " Ya should have known that, I used to own one years ago" :confused:
