A bloody B sodding S

TBH Advice was offered. Anything else would simply be guesswork.

You have a 7 years old bike that's developed a fault and suddenly a new built down to price Japanese job is better.

It most (might) certainly will be until the warranty runs out. Then what?

Get a GS-911 as I found recently it's false economy not to do.

. I stopped and gave some guy a 13mm spanner he said he would post it back he didn't but what the heck it got him out of a hole.

I'd be fecked if i'd post it back if someone gave me a 13mm spanner to get out of a hole.

Well steptoe l worked for a German company as their techie for Scotland in fish plants and sometimes l had to beg borrow or steal a piece of gear to get me out of a hole. Without exception the guy got his tool back but that was just me. Some of the gear was snap on stuff so the guys in the plant room took their chances that they would get it back as well.

You have to recognise a windup when you see it

Sorry ebbo, steptoe I'm a bit thick over forums. I bought the wife a nexus after she came through her illness for her to contact friends and family. so we have only been foruming - texting for two months perhaps I take it all too seriously I'll stick to house husbanding and nursing in future. And of course my little old bike.

Don't take it personally. Most forums are far better mannered than this one. Unfortunately you've dived head first into the gruffest of forums with the some of the most ignorant, backward thinking 1970's type alpha males, on Tinternet. They do, however, know their stuff (for the most part) & once you realise that they think they're superior to EVERYONE else & not just you & learn to laugh with/at them (your choice), you'll be hooked. :thumb

Best wishes to the wife in getting back to full health.

It's funny guys when I think of my past work l must have been in one of the roughest environments to work in but when you are working you seem to take everything in your stride especially being away from home for long periods. Being nurse maid and cancer carer must shorten the patience threshold. Anyway ok now get on with life fishy.

If you trawl through this web forum Fishy you will find incredible support for folk in all manner of unpleasant situations. Countless people step up to the mark to assist someone in a tough place for no other reason than the personal satisfaction of helping others.

Steptoe is a mechanical genius but spent years leaping out of aeroplanes with a very large hankie attached to himself with string. This perfectly demonstrates that genius and lunacy are either side of a very fine line. He's also one of the guys who will step up to the line on many occasions.

You will find friendship and support here should you want or need it. I hope your wife makes a full recovery.
