Had a quick ride out today and found a couple of roads of not ridden yet. The first one, I had actually been on before and had been hunting it down for years. I recalled my dad taking us on it in his ford sierra in the 90s when we were kids and telling us he'd walked up the hill. Unfortunately he couldn't remember by the time I got round to asking him.

Anyway, the first one is the road through Barbondale in Cumbria which heads out from the village of Barbon (where my parents actually met), to the left is the hill/mountain "Calf top". Head towards the village of Dent.

Heres a photo of my little bike, and also a quick drone video.

A wonderful quiet flowing road with some great little "jumps" that you feel in your stomach.

The other road was a little bit more technical.... The road between Dent and Ingleton, known as Deepdale.

This one was certainly scrappy and messy at first as there was numerous (6 I think) gates you had to open and close (one on quite a steep section) , lots of areas with grass growing in the middle etc. A few steepish sections, but nothing like a hardknott. It did however mean it was ridiculously quiet, I think I saw one car in the space of 10 miles.

Thankfully it did settle out towards Ingleton and it was a superb valley with a dry stony riverbed to your left.

I love both those roads, little traffic, you're not gonna get a ticket for speeding etc...but shhh....don't be telling everyone or it'll end up like the NC500...the YorkCumb25

I was unfortunately in a bit of a rush as I'd set off from Birstall about 10ish and had to be back by 3pm for the school run!

I'd called at the bridge ( Kirby Lonsdale) for some snap too.

A few of the lads on here have the odd story to tell about the many gates rd; there's also bit of a waterfall and small pool up there if i remember correctly; i've got a picture somewhere i'llsee if i can did it out.

I'll be on that road on Sunday then dropping down into Dent.
Been on it several times, initially shown to me by Fatal of this parish. It's very picturesque as the road tracks the adjacent river.
It certainly beats blatting up the M6 and turning off at Sedberg.

I'm glad FatAl turned up, I read it as Fatal and wondered if someone had been in a terrible accident :ROFLMAO:

You're a brave man owning a motorcycle in Birstall.

Are you mafia? Or do you have a moat?
