As the header, A&D now stocking the finest knock off BMWs. They seem to have a 900cc demo bike. Well it did not have demo badges like the others but it was sat inside the showroom and had been out on muddy roads.

They would not lend it to me overnight so I ended up with a hideous, 10 year old ER6.

Excellent .

So does sticking a BMW roundel to the tank and bumping up the price by £5k make the bike any better ?

I posted a video of their 300 a couple of weeks ago and took it up Moel Fammau

I am putting the finishing touches to a test of the 900 currently - it seemed a great bike for the money

the parallel twin predates the Loncin arrangement by a long time. Originally made by Rotax from a joint design with BMW. When that arrangement ended, presumably due to cost of making in Europe, BMW developed the 900cc motor then outsourced production to Loncin.

Loncin then make enough "changes" to the design to get around being sued when they launch their dupe of the F900GS.

I wonder if European manufacturers will learn the lesson and not spend millions in r&d only to outsource production to China and have their design copied? Thai manufacturers aren't producing knock off Triumph models so I expect it's Chinese government policy to copy others designs. Chinese hackers have been stealing Western product details for many years so it's not just when manufacture is moved there
