A day in the life of an airhead, with not an airhead in sight ..

I'll put that garage on my map for my next tour in the UK. :thumb2
It's one of the ''must see'' places! :clap

:) Liv.

Bollox !!!
Wackeys just phoned, he wants me down tomorrow to take the fairing off:( as he sez it's GOT TO be resprayed...
He and Barbara have picked the colour, so i've had no say in the matter :(

Right, whats it like to strip the fairing off one of these bricks ?? as I've never done one before...
Also are there any pitfalls I should look out for ?
All contributions greatfully received :thumb2

Piece of piss. Just loosen all the visible fixings before undoing them completely. Strip the interior first, leg shields and inner-fairing. This will reveal all the main fixings.

Not including the screen, there's two side panels, radiator surround, a small insert behind the forks (attached to the main-upper section) and the main-upper section (which is bloody heavy).

The fairing support brackets remain attached to the frame.

This could be a " guess the chosen colour" bit. I recon it could be a sort of translucent yellowish colour with a slightly familiar odour.:aidan

Looking good by the way.

It will not be piss yellow Tony ;)

Well today was nearly a freeze out but the framework is coming on well >>

One of the main criteria is that the back end can be removed in case of g/box or clutch problems ..
Only prob so far is that the Panniers will not fit, but I've got throw overs or an Ortleib bag strapped to the back rack...
Also thinking of a slashcut shorty Zorst as the 3 pot sounds GREAT without silencer :thumb

Best get the rear subframe powdercoated, whilst you're spraying the fairing:augie

DOH'HH @ Johnny..
It's all tack welds at the moment, after final fit, all will be welded and THEN off to powder coaters in Hatherleigh along with several other brackets etc..
INCLUDING all the underseat metalwork !!!.

Rear suspension looks like it's going to be MONO :D
but it only needs 85mm travel and combined with Tyre pressures of 12 psi will mean a very comfortable ride :)

Looking good. Look forward to seeing it on the road

:tears:tears:tears:tears:tears:tears:tears:tears:tears

It's not going to be ready for Shroppy do :tears:tears
Can't get frame powdercoated till Thursday and then theres 2 days assembly SVA and MOT !!!! :(:(:(:(
SVA date is Feb 14th :eek:eek
The earliest they could fit it in :(
Well they do say patience is a virtue :angel
and it is a complete work of art :)

Bollox to patience :redbone:spitfire:eh:forry

First fitting today :bounce1
I put the fairing back on over last couple of days, changing service parts as I went ....

I think it's going to look ok ..

OK, I admit that I know nothing about trikes but isn't that not a hell of alot of unsprung weight cantilevered behind the axle? Especially as a percentage of the total?

Thats why you run 12/15lb pressure in the back tyres....
Unsprung weight including axle is only 58 kgs :D
