BikeSafe Leicestershire have a few places up for grabs due to cancellations ;)

For the knock down price of £50 you can have a day out in sunny Leicestershire with a Class 1 Police rider, on a ONE to ONE basis, giving you tips and pointers towards making you a safer smoother rider.

The days all start at 0845hrs at Leicestershire Police HQ at Enderby (just off J21 M1)

A presentation of the Bikesafe interactive DVD followed by a Demo ride by a Police motorcyclist... then a further 80 or so miles out on the best roads in Leicestershire.

Also included in the price is lunch, a certificate of completion, and a well stocked goodie bag ;)

Dates available as of today:

Saturday 4th October 2 places
Sunday 5th October 2 places

Saturday 18th October 1 place
Sunday 19th October 2 places

Well worth every penny ... Just been on the very same course today with Bryn and his crew mate. Thank you guys, loved it.

I got alot out of this course, its surprising how much you learn in very short space of time, it went so quickly ..... oh and i had a slapped wrist for exceeding the speed limit in a 30mph zone .... ooops :o Sorry chaps.

I'm now officially certified by the Leicestershire Force. :D :thumb2

Seriously, its worth every penny. Do it if you can.

Og,
training for 17 years / riding for 30 / and still learning

Accompanied Bryn on Bikesafe today.

If you’re in the Midlands you’ll probably know that the weather this morning was awful – p***ing it down. I was therefore impressed that everyone turned up on time at Leicestershire Police HQ at 0845.

After an initial briefing and classroom session with DVD we took to the road. The police riders led for the first 15 minutes or so in order to demonstrate the correct technique. Then it was the turn of the “observees” (what’s the correct term for someone that is being observed as opposed to “trained”) to lead and for the pro’s to follow and observe. The riding was “purposeful” and positive, with the underlying objective of making progress safely.

Bryn was very good. He demonstrated good anticipation, observation, positioning and respect for other road users. There’s no doubt that he has real potential and, provided he acts on the suggestions I made in the debriefings, could be a very useful rider. It’s probably not too much of an exaggeration to say that he could probably make a living from riding. Remember Bryn - smoothly does it!

Seriously – a brilliant day. Big thanks to Bryn and Sergeant Wayne. I learned a huge amount - would never have believed that riding within the speed limits could be so enjoyable. In addition it’s a nice sensation to be able to look in your mirrors and see a police bike without thinking “oh bo***cks”. And fantastic value for money. If, like me, you’ve taken no training since passing your test, DO IT. You don’t know how much you don’t know.

Highly recommended.
