A few other options though.

Some even provide brekky.

Seems more and more have moved from B&B to just “B”.

So - I moved along the street to Balmoral for less. Which is a B&B

ps - I feel I’m cheating as I live up the road a bit, but then I couldn’t “drink and drive”

Fekk me they've bumped their prices up haven't they ! 81 quid per night? They can fekk right off with that. It's half that across the road in The Famous Star Hotel, which in my opinion is much nicer. Cracking breakfasts too.. Eightyone fekkin quid my arse.

My room a Buccleugh is £85/night same dates
£5 a night for more secure parking will do me fine

Star is £80/night for a single occupancy
£80/night seems to be the going rate unless hostel or cheaper b&b

A twin room JB. ..2 beds...2 people. Thats how it works. If you want to have a twin to thissen knock thissen out. Waste of a place for someone who may now be unable to attend , but that's ok , I'm orreet Jack.

Buccleuch was £150 for 2nts when I booked. I only requested a room for 1 adult, so maybe it was adjusted for just one breakfast each morning. I booked direct on their site, though.

Meself, Younger and dub24 booked into a cottage in Moffat. 10 min walk from the pub, means we can do our rebel song singing enroute.

Of course and when younger spent many nights sharing rooms/cabins/YHA dorm hostels (in uk and Europe) and bunkhouses with biker mates, to save a bit of coin.
Maybe with a good mate who doesn’t snore etc I still would/do
However when you get the choice in later life, I prefer a room to myself in most circumstances
