A Good Buy...?

Had a haggling session today in Down Town Minilla ..

managed to drop the price from 2,600 pounds to an amazing 15 quid!

Result or what!......... Rolex GMT Master2 !

I know its a fake - but has amazing detail, how long do you think it will last?
A week, month or for ever?

Probably a cheapo Taipei copy - not a proper Quezon City job

But doesn't matter, got a couple of equally cheap Brietlings

I hate fake watches such as TAG, Omega and Rolex etc!

Nothing irritates me more when someone grabs your wrist and asks, "is it real or a fake".....?

"It's a fake, now feck off you little pikey!"...

I got a fake Rolly subbie. Good one, proper automatic.

It keeps almost perfect time, is totally waterproof, and still looks convincingish after 2 years.

Also got a real one - a Seadweller.

That keeps very iffy time.

Bet the fake one will still be going in 30 years time, well after the real one has packed up, after soaking up £10,000 in service costs.

I bought a "Datejust" in Malaysia in 2005.......still going strong...

Was going to buy a "Daytona", but he wanted a tenner.....robbing t**t....

I've got a GMT Master that I bought in Bahrain in 1977 for about £250. Hardly been off my wrist since except for servicing, which has probably cost me £2500 in total. The last service was about £700 because of a new strap. And it has never kept time! They consistantly always adjust it so it's a bit fast. Even in Bahrain in 1977 when it was new and after several trips back to the dealer. I gave in in the end and have put up with it ever since.

I think they are probably an anachronism these days when you consider what you can buy for next to f*** all - accurate, reliable, light weight, very waterproof, good looking etc.

But...I love it and it's a part of me.
