A good job done

Thanks King Rat- got to give mine a looking at on my X Country, so a timely reminder! They get a bit grimy after the winter and salty roads…. Job for the weekend !
 
My 2pence.
I would suggest you use RED grease.
On the piston and caliper slider, yes, red rubber grease. Mine was fine so I didn't regrease it. On the pads, copper slip or ceramic, just to stop them chattering.
 
Yep, close the throttle and job's a good one.

Can I have your brake pads then? 😁
I have thrown the old ones in the bin, one of them broke in half, the backing plate had corroded right through. I wouldn't mind betting they were the originals, the bike has only done 50,000 miles, in round figures, might be 52,000.
