A little Preventive maintenance - Goes a long way

Clean out the holes in your brake disc – They fill up with brakepad material, which compacts, raises the surface above the disc face, which accelerates wear and causes grooves on the brake disc .

Take a punch or drift ( even a biro will do) and clean the holes by poking through. Only takes a couple of minutes.

Job done - but it’s a bit too late on this disc as it’s already started to groove ( man)

Steptoe,

I hope all these 'top-tip' posts you've put up are related to your 'publish your own book' post. :thumb

Strange, I went to have a look if this required doing, must be our dry climate, mine "before" look like yours "after".

Welsh

I shall do that from now on.
Your tip on how to change the alternator belt, I'll leave to you as the bike will never go again if I did it.
However, I'm very proud of myself for changing the plug cap, all by myself!
