So over the weekend we got a few oilheads together, about a hundred miles north of Jo,burg, it was essentially for 1150's but 1100's were welcome as were a couple of R80,s ...

We had 32 R1150GSA's there, 27 R1150GS's 6 R1100's sorry if photos are kark but iphone only...

Since we dont get winter in your terms, average mileage was about 97,000 Km's and condition very good.... since the vyoungest bike is over 10 years old...

oldest 1150 we saw was Stuart's (he is 72 and rode there and camped with us) his was built in week 16 1999.

I guess the weather there helps keep them good. BMW must have less warranty issues for the toilets poor finish in Africa.

It's good to know that sense prevails somewhere in the world, great photos :beerjug:

A climate where we are at high altitude (a mile up) get almost no rain for 5 months of the year (including the 2 months of winter) so no salt on the roads, helps stop them deteriorating, a mate of mine got a "barn find" the other day an R1150GSA without a mark and 19,000km's on the clock....:D

I dont have a lot, but da Peeg who also vists here was an organiser, he is at the BMW club tonight but will no doubt provide an OCD report shortly, he has promised to...:D:beer:

Impressive indeed! Did you do at least a little dash into Karoo? :D

Hopefully all's going good in Jo'Burg! On a second though I reckon Conrad @ Offroad Cycles in Pretoria still talks a lot of kak! :D
