Just been told I cant get a 600 mile first service done till the 20th of October. ? Has anyone else had to wait a similar time I can see it getting parked up as ive been told it cant go over 750 miles for the warranty.? Its a brand new bloody bike that funnily enough I want to get on and use..! Best carol nash pull there finger out their arse and cough up for my 1150adv that after 7 weeks after the knobheads knocked me off still havent even been out to inspect the damage or write it off as im gonna need a spare bike at this rate..!! Best get the c90 mot'd just incase :jager

Why not just phone a few dealers, then go with the first available? You don't have to go to the supplying dealer.:rob I always book my bike in for the first service when I take delivery.:thumb

I picked it up yesterday afternoon and work shifts they gave me the dates of the 16,17th of october yesterday so I said I'd call back this morning to confirm once id checked the roster and they came back with the 20th! I'll ring round tomorrow can you tell me how much it roughly should cost as they were doing the service for free just charging for consumables,

cheers rob

Speak to the sales person who sold you the bike and ask him/her if they are prepared to pay for the 600 mile service when you book it in with another dealer? The answer will be that they won't, which leaves you with two choices .......

Either:

1: Pay for the 600 mile service yourself at the other dealership

or

2: Fire fucks into the sales person and insist that they use some of their Sales Dept's daily allocated workshop time to get your bike's service done

Which dealers do the first 600 mile service for free ? ones up her don't

I've never bought a new bike, and I've bought a few, without negotiating the first service as part of the deal and having the date booked.

I had the same issue, brought the the oil filter oil for engine and final drive from the dealer and did it myself. If you not confident do the same but get an independent mechanic to do it. NOG said it would be no problem concerning warranty.
They also said to allow at least 3 weeks to get a service slot.
PS my bike then went in about a month later and was updated on the BMW system and a general check over so all good.
It's now done 8,000 miles

I've always negotiated such a good deal on the bikes, a free first service always gets laughed at, and politely refused!:D

If this is Chandlers, then I'm surprised they are not being more helpful given that you've just bought the bike off them. Why not get to your 600m, then just leave the bike with them for a few days so they can fit it in?

Evening all, spoke to the organ grinders today "martyn & rorey" & deal done for the 8th of October which works fine with me, they are good fella's down there so glad it got sorted and didn't have to go else where, done just over 300 miles now and it's great even if I can only rev it to 4k. ..:blast
Thanks for the info and help :-)

No honestly.. The warranty things got me proper pranged, if it can tell me how many times I've changed gear and used the brakes what else is it logging.?

Got my first service done at just under 1,000 miles. Went from dealer in Guildford to Glasgow and back via London plus a bit more.

Are you saying that the ECU on the WC logs all these things routinely, and that you are also worried that it will tell the dealer if you have over-revved it before the first service as well? And if it does do that, does the hexhead ECU do the same?

Rory at Chandlers runs the service desk and is a top bloke. Glad you got it sorted.
