My local dealer ( Marshall’s) did a similar thing recently, then extended it as they aren’t selling well.

It’s aftersales they fail anyone can make a promiseThey don’t like reducing prices as it cheapens the brand but are happy to give an extra £1000 for your trade-in or make a deposit contribution, free luggage etc.
