A possible job move to Edinburgh...

Dunbar is a lovely seaside town. It has received a considerable amount of investment recently from both builders and Asda, with a fairly new store.

My mate lives in Dunbar and he commutes to Edinburgh by train everyday. The route is the main line from London to Edinburgh. He works at the New Royal Infirmary to the south of the city and has had no real transport issues more than anyone else.

The schools are good, there is an active community and the weather is mild.

From a biking point of view there is easy access to the roads of the Scottish Borders and Northumbria, even North Yorks is not that far. The coast roads and back roads between Dunbar and the rest of Scotland can be great fun too.

There are beaches, golf courses, rugby clubs and some very nice eateries, including a hotel called the Rock, which has an excellent menu.

Apart from my mate living in Dunbar and having sampled the aforementioned fayre I have no connection with Dunbar and am promoting it purely because it deserves it.

Best of luck on the job front and the house search.

And there's a GS riding famer just on the right past the Nuclear Power Station at Torness! The Rocks is good too.....and Umberto's

Have a look at the Edinburgh Solicitors Property Centre site here:

Dalgety Bay and Burntisland but the cost of commuting has to be balanced with the lower house prices these days.

Dalgety Bay a name I havent thought of for years, lived there when I was in junior school, so long ago that I was in the first intake of kids in the then NEW school. It was still known as the "old" Donibristle Airfield, in fact the airfield was still there and hadent been built on then, I bet its changed a bit now!!

Famous for having a beach contaminated with radioactive particles as when they burnt waste from the exWWII planes at Donibristle, the ash was dumped into the Forth Estuary. The radiation is from the paint used on the instruments.
