A quest for a 1200GS

No luck with an 09 gs at the moment, however I got a quote on a 12GS rallye and was surprised that it was only 210 quid a month! My budget was 150-190! So is the extra money. Worth it?

Well done , I hope that is a new one ! Probably you should push it a little bit and get a adventure , it will worth it in the end !!
Hope to here good news from you soon:clap

Thanks for the comments guys, it's all very exciting! Can't go for an adventure as they are too tall! Hopefully I shall be uploading a picture of my new gs soon!

No the vanilla GS is the better bike :rob.

Seriously though you get better fuel range and a better screen with the GSA. With the GS you get better performance, handling, and value for money - and it's easier to push around the drive/ garage.

For me it would depend on how long you intend to keep it, if only for a couple of years with dealer servicing have what you like with whatever 'toys' you want on it........................if not....................get one with the minimum of 'toys'...................especially ABS, the more fancy bits, the more there is to go wrong..........I've lost count of the number of Servo and ABS systems that I've helped to remove due to them becoming an uneconomic repair.

This of course is a purely personal opinion from someone with a perfectly reliable 1200!

Although I do like the idea of the GSA tank range there is no way I would be able to get in the thing!

Thanks for tips Arkwright, part of the idea of going new is so all the little bugs can be worked out if there is any than if I want to keep it than I have a bike that should be fine, well, thats the thoery anyway!

We shall see how things go. I am moving house and need to put up a garage. Just been quoted 1100 quid! That may drain the change bike fund for the next fe months. I was hoping to have one by the time I go to Scotland in June!
