A Quest-ion of Compass page

I found illustrations of a compass page in the quest manual, and found the compass usefull on the V. I was completley unable to find out how to get to it, so I asked Mr garmin, whose response was...........
If you set the Quest to off road route calculation and give it a waypoint to route to, you will get the navigation compass. When a auto-route is created on road, it will not have the route compass.

I believe that it also becomes available if you use the Tracback feature...
