As some amongst you may know I have now acquired an R100GS Paralever :JB:JB:JB in a sorry state after being abandonned many years ago :nono:nono:nono

So Do I make sure it's mechanically sorted and do an Old tractor type resto with associated pattina i.e. Farmyard condition :aidan:aidan

Or Do I make it my own with a few Jay type mods:pullface:pullface

She already has a name Project Escargot because I'm not allowed to play with it till I have some jobs for my missus and some nice people cleared up

Escargot because she's French and in the interim when folks ask hows it coming along I'm probably going to tell them "Slowly!" :(:(:(

make it your own. One of the things I like about Airheads is the individuality of the bikes. Even two bikes that look similar have a different ride and feel to them.

Doesn't have to be a big budget project but if you put a little of yourself into the bike they have so much more appeal, not just to you but to other people.

PS the above statement excludes Civils "Frankenstein" bike :D

Gentle renewal and then some upgrades. Having a look at some other bikes can make you see what is sensible and what isn't. Almost have a blank canvas if the bike is really tatty.

One trouble is I can see you easily paying more to renovate the bike than you could have bought one running for :( But if it adds another bike to the running pool then that has to be good news.

BTW don't look overseas on ebay.de for many good deals, unless the Euro goes into freefall :(
