Time for tape measures: ;)

Once i'd changed the handlebars, my old 1150 GS (with Wunderlich crash bars) I could just scrape down the 90cm gap between my neighbour's house and mine.

Now I've a hankering for an 1150ADV with 30 litre tank and BMW crash bars. So if I do the same swap for narrow handlebars - is it gonna fit?

Thanks in ADV :)

Of course it will fit. It's just a case of riding into the gap fast enough and ensuring that you are closer to youir neighbours house than your own.

These nice solid low plastic 1150's should simply widen the gap to whatever's required.:D

Thanks for the tip. :thumb

This 90cm gap continues for about 10 metres so I suspect that a few attempts will be required and the ensuing sparks will set fire to something or slow me to a full wedged stop.

So...

Excluding the handlebars; how wide is a 30L ADV with BMW crash bars? :nenau

cheers

Widest point of 1150GSA is the mirror to mirror at 98cm.

You could move them about a bit to leave the bar ends the widest bit, but it's still well over 90cm.

You can fit the bars from something else.....the RT I think (a search here should turn up some threads where that's been done)

Or Rickybars (Ricardo Khun's ergonomic genius) or Renthals. (again, have a search...all will be revealed. ;)
