A request for pics of a G/S PD tank

I can't believe that Farmer bloke has not popped up and given it a :rob over that side panel - standards are indeed slipping in here :augie

He hasn't popped up because he's been wallowing on the settee like a beached whale full of chilli and baked potato, closely followed by several glasses of fine vintage port :)

Since when have I been bothered about standard bikes? I prefer them customised to the rider.

The screens a National Cycles deflector screen http://www.nationalcycle.com/catalogue/deflectorScreens.html. They really work, I've got one on mine, the bike and myself are happy siting at 90 with it fitted. Flipfly gave me mine because he didn't like the look of it.

Anyway - Of course it's a fake it's got a black rear mudguard.

I asked Mick Barr about the PD kit. Mick was a BMW dealer during the 80's. He said if you wanted a PD you ordered a standard bike and a retrofit PD kit which was fitted for you by the bike shop. People chose which bits they wanted fitting, mixing and matching to suit themselves. Thats why theres so many strange combinations kicking about. If you look at the microfiche it lists the PD parts as a complete kit (no 25) http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=0346&mospid=47856&btnr=51_2647&hg=51&fg=20

Now! wheres that bottle of port gone :boozer

Rob. On the microfiche of Dakar parts, What is the "gasket" No 22. Under the seat? Just wondering:confused:
Wondered also about the screen as the previous owner of my bike (flipfly) gave it away before he parted with the bike :thedummy ,now I will have to try and find one as I am getting a bit old to hang on for long:aidan
I quite like the Givi one, anyone any experience with it?

I've no idea what that part is :nenau

My screen is the one that was originally on your bike. It works well and takes the wind blast off you chest.

I think its the "waterproof" top cover for the toolkit :)

Pastyman, IF you are going to get one of them there screens, might pay to split postage and get two
I'd really like one of them :thumb2
